If you are installing X6, you will have to install it manually. Make sure Word is NOT running when you turn on CWYW in the customizer. I usually turn on everything in that dialog. You turn this on in EndNote using EndNote's Customizer, which you run from the EndNote X5 menu. Installing X7 will add the EndNote submenu automatically. The EndNote feature you are looking for is called Cite While you Write.
